• Young* (but not under 14) up to and including Old
• Straight and LGBTQ+
• Any and all races and cultures, though I only speak English
• Liberal, Conservative, Centrist, Libertarian or undeclared and don’t care
• Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. As well as agnostics, atheists, and secular humanists
• No 49er fans though… kidding!

* I only work with teens who want to participate in therapy vs mandated by parents.

Work History

Non-Therapy Related:

I have had steady employment since I was 13 years old.

First job: I was a paperboy, delivering the Seattle Times. This job taught me discipline, responsibility and the joy of independence.

Second job: I worked on a landscaping crew for two Summers and one Fall. This job taught me the instant gratification of a visually appealing job well done. I was also in the best shape of my life.

Third job: I was a server/waiter at restaurants, bars and breweries for 8 years during my undergrad and grad school journey and a few years after. This serving job taught an introvert he could talk to anyone.

Therapy-adjacent job:

1998-1999 — Residential Counselor in a recovery home for teens that were court-ordered for treatment due to drug/alcohol addiction and convictions for unlawful behaviors. This experience was incredibly difficult and rewarding. It was my inspiration to go to grad school and become a therapist.

Therapy Jobs:

2001-2002 — Intern Marriage and Family Therapist, Student Counseling Center at Northwest University. I worked with adults and couples.

2002-2007 — Marriage and Family Therapist, Student Counseling Center at Seattle Pacific University. I worked with adults and couples.

2007-2012 — Joined a group practice in Bellevue. I worked with teens, adults, couples and families.

2012-present — I started my private practice in Maple Valley, WA and have not looked back!
